During the search, officers discovered two black improvised fabric collars tied around the cat’s neck. The collars were removed, and a dog handler with a sniffer dog was called to the scene.

After examining the items, the sniffer dog confirmed that the collars contained narcotics.

The incident was handled by Russia’s penitentiary authorities, who prevented the suspected drugs from being brought into the prison.

Representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN) said the cat was released after officials confirmed that it had not been harmed during the operation.
