A 71-year-old man has d!ed after being attacked by a bull during the Carnival of the Bull bullfighting festival in Spain.
Officials in Ciudad Rodrigo, located near Salamanca, confirmed that the victim, identified as Eustaquio Martín, d!ed on February 14.
Before his death, Martín was known as a popular and active member of the local bullfighting community and regularly worked at the festival each year.
Reports revealed that the tragic incident occurred during the first bullfighting event of the festival when a bull charged at him. During the attack, the bull pierced the upper part of his ribcage, leading to severe internal injuries.
Dr. Enrique Crespo later confirmed the extent of the injuries, describing the bleeding as uncontrollable.
He said:
“The wound, in the center of his chest, left his heart partially destroyed and half a lung damaged.”
Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Martín sadly d!ed from his injuries.
Following the incident, the Mayor of Ciudad Rodrigo, Marcos Iglesias Caridad, confirmed the death in a Facebook post.
Writing on Facebook he said:
“As you know from the media, sadly sadly a countryman of ours, very dear, has di£d in the night capea. We send a hug to his family and friends and are with them in their grief. At 11 o’clock, just before the Toro del Antruejo, we will keep in the area of the Pinos a minute of silence. R.I.P.”
Photos shared by the mayor showed residents gathered in the town square, observing a minute of silence in honour of the late Martín.
This tragedy marks the first death at the Carnival of the Bull festival in 40 years. The last fatal incident occurred in 1986, when Miguel Ángel Garzón died during a bullfighting event.
The festival’s official Facebook page also released a statement expressing shock and sadness over the incident.
They wrote: “It’s one of the things we would have NEVER liked to see or live. We are shocked. It’s something we knew was happening in the libraries. Remembering that date in ’86 started to result from another era, another way to understand our Carnival.
“We saw so many [participants] always saved by the formidable medical teams we have. It seemed like this would never happen again,” the festival wrote. “This is why the shock is hard to digest. A big hug to the family.”**

Man on the Run After Shooting Two People During Wedding Over Meatball Argument
Police are searching for 41-year-old Thomas Redrick Williams, who is accused of opening fire at the reception before fleeing the scene.

Authorities said Williams is wanted on suspicion of first-degree reckless injury with the use of a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and bail jumping.
According to a criminal complaint, the incident began after the bride’s cousin noticed Williams serving himself meatballs with his bare hands and asked him to use a plate and serving utensils instead.
The disagreement escalated, and prosecutors said Williams allegedly punched the bride’s cousin. When the bride’s brother-in-law attempted to intervene and calm the situation, the confrontation became physical.
Investigators allege that Williams then pulled out a handgun and opened fire.
The woman was reportedly shot in the arm and leg, while the man sustained a gunshot wound to the back of the neck. Both victims survived and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to investigators, the bride witnessed the shooting and followed Williams outside as he attempted to leave. She reportedly confronted him beside his vehicle and grabbed his key fob in an effort to stop him from driving away.

Williams allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Police later searched the car, which is registered in his wife’s name, and reportedly recovered a Taurus 9mm handgun.
When officers later spoke with Williams’ wife, she said they had attended the wedding together and that he had dropped her off at home before returning with her vehicle.
Authorities also disclosed that Williams was already out on bond in a separate criminal case when the shooting occurred.

A warrant has since been issued for his arrest, and police continue to search for him.

Man Sentenced to Two Life Imprisonment for Murdering Girlfriend and Her 18-Year-Old Sister
Tooson was arrested in 2022 after fatally shooting the two sisters at an apartment in Ashland, Kentucky.

Prosecutors said Tooson was in a relationship with 20-year-old Selina Easter when he entered her apartment in June 2022 and shot her and her younger sister, Summer Algarakhuly, 18.
At the time of the shooting, the couple’s newborn baby girl was reportedly inside the apartment.
After the incident, Tooson fled the scene but was later arrested in Ohio.
During the sentencing hearing, family members spoke about the lasting impact the murders have had on the victims’ children.

Boyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rhonda Copley described the sentencing as an important step toward justice.
She said:
“The plea and sentencing of John Tooson brings accountability for the senseless and tragic loss of two young lives, Selina and Summer.”
Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman also commented on the case, saying:

You Don’t Expect Tinubu to Go and Put on Khaki and Fight – Pastor Adeboye Speaks Over Insecurity in Nigeria
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has defended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against criticism over the country’s security challenges.
Speaking at the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington, Adeboye said he does not agree with those who accuse the President of failing to do enough to tackle insecurity.
He said:
“When my friend Trump gives instructions to go and bomb anywhere, he doesn’t leave the White House. He has done his bit. ‘I hereby command, bomb Iran’, and then he goes to his bedroom and sleeps. The rest is left to the supporters.”
Adeboye, however, acknowledged that insecurity has worsened across the country, saying terrorist attacks and kidnappings have spread beyond northern Nigeria into the southern region.
He said:
“Things have gone far, far worse… so bad that they are asking: ‘Where is your God?’ That is how bad it is. The terrorism, kidnapping, and so on that were in the north are now even at my doorstep. They have come all the way down to the south. And, of course, the sponsors — they are all known, and they are still moving about freely.”
The cleric called on the government to take decisive action against those funding criminal activities, saying he had advised that security agencies be given a clear deadline to address the situation.
He added:
“I told him to tell all the military boys, all the army, navy and air force: ‘You have 90 days. Wipe out this rubbish or resign.’ And then take care of the supporters, the sponsors.”
“You know them,”
“Some of them are businessmen. Some of them are politicians. Go after them. Because if you do not deal with those who are supplying these people with arms and ammunition — and most of the time, when they go about, they go about on motorcycles — if we don’t go after the sponsors, the problem will continue.”

Man Wrongfully Accused of Stealing ₦2 Million Seen in New Photos After Assault
Ekene Agala, the man who was allegedly beaten by a mob and security operatives over claims that he stole ₦2 million, has resurfaced in a recent photo shared by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu.
The development comes days after a video of Ekene went viral, showing him insisting on his innocence during the incident, which reportedly occurred on June 28, 2026.
According to Harrison, the woman had initially claimed there was CCTV footage showing Ekene taking the money. However, she later stated that there was no CCTV footage and that the allegation was based on what a young child reportedly told her.
Reacting to the development, Harrison wrote:
“What happened to Ekene Agala is a painful reminder of why we must never rush to judgment,”
“A woman initially accused Ekene of stealing N2 million and claimed there was CCTV footage to prove it. Based on that allegation, estate security and others nearly lynched him through jungle justice.
“Today, the story has changed. The same woman now says there is no CCTV footage and claims it was a little child who allegedly saw Ekene taking the money.
“This raises serious questions and reinforces an important lesson. Never follow the crowd without knowing the facts.
“Tomorrow, we will begin the process of ensuring that Ekene Agala gets justice. We thank God he survived the mob attack.
“Let this serve as a reminder to everyone, don’t be quick to judge based on viral videos, rumours, or public sentiment. The truth often lies beyond the first story you hear.
“Emerging facts now point to Ekene’s innocence in the allegation against him. We will find out.”
