18-Year-Old Nursery Worker Sentenced to 15 Years for Child Abuse
An 18-year-old former nursery worker, identified as Thomas Waller, has been sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison following his conviction for the sexual abuse of young children.
Waller was found guilty earlier this year on multiple serious charges, including rape and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. The victims were children as young as three years old.
The initial sentence was 10 years, and at Guildford Crown Court he was sentenced to an additional 5 years in prison, bringing the total to 15 years.
How the Abuse Was Discovered
Thomas Waller was arrested last year. The investigation began after a mother was told by her son that he had been abused while using the toilet at the nursery.
It was established that Waller took advantage of his position to gain the trust of two boys under his care. This included taking the children to the toilet and assisting them with getting changed—activities which were exploited for the abuse.
Powerful Words from the Victims’ Families
During the sentencing, the court heard devastating victim impact statements from the families affected.
One of the fathers of the boys bravely shared the trauma his son now faces, stating his son had “gathered a collection of memories that I would never wish on a human being“.
He outlined the family’s motivation throughout the ordeal: “Three things have kept us going; justice for our little boy; to protect other children from this dangerous, calculating predator; and to ensure that lessons are learnt for nurseries in Surrey and beyond that mean it is harder for paedophiles to abuse children,” it added.
The father also highlighted the immense shift in focus his family had to make when enrolling his son in a new school, underscoring the severity of the trauma:”We should be telling them that he doesn’t like carrots, not that he has been raped.”
Judge Addresses Parents’ Heartbreak
Judge Claire Harden-Frost addressed the pain and self-blame felt by the victims’ parents during the sentencing.
She described it as heartbreaking to see the boys’ parents feeling responsible for what happened.
Nursery School Statement
A statement was also released by the nursery school regarding the incident.
In a statement released by the nursery school, it reads: “We were, and remain, deeply shocked, saddened and sorry to learn of the actions of a former member of our staff.
“As soon as concerns were raised, we took immediate action, contacting the police without delay, suspending the individual concerned, and fully cooperating with the investigation.”
Waller was found guilty of rape, two counts of causing or inciting sexual activity, and taking indecent photos following a trial at Staines Youth Court earlier this year.
The offences took place at a nursery in Surrey between July and August 2024.

“A database gave us an idea of where to look but then it was up to us to go and see.
“The item in question could have been demolished so it’s all luck of the draw.
“But it’s all part of the research.”
Stuart added that the bunker is located on private land and believes the landowner is likely aware of its existence.
“It’s on private land so I’d expect the farmer knows it’s there.”
The discovery has fascinated history enthusiasts online, offering a rare glimpse into a wartime structure that has remained hidden for decades.

Couples Arrested After Climbing Empire State Building Antenna for Marriage Proposal
The pair, who were dressed in black, were seen scaling the building’s antenna without safety harnesses before standing on a narrow ledge near the summit, approximately 443 metres (1,454 feet) above Manhattan.

The daring stunt drew the attention of authorities, and shortly after the climbers descended from the antenna at around 1 p.m., officers moved in and arrested them.
According to reports, the two individuals are believed to be Russian nationals.

“Two individuals were taken into custody without incident. There are no injuries reported. Charges are pending, and the investigation is still ongoing.”
No injuries were reported during the incident, and authorities are continuing their investigation.

A Ghanaian woman has reportedly been hospitalized after collapsing upon discovering that her husband had allegedly married another woman without her knowledge.
The incident was shared on Facebook by a man identified as Fati Aboni, who said the woman is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. According to him, the incident occurred on Friday, June 26.
