Police Continue Search for Missing 2-Year-Old Omphile Sethole in Limpopo

Police in Limpopo are still searching for a missing two-year-old girl, Omphile Sethole, who was reportedly taken from her home on May 2, 2026.

The toddler was said to have been taken about 10 days ago from Ga-Mabuela Village.

According to IOL, Limpopo police spokesperson, Malesela Ledwaba, explained how the incident happened.

“It is said that at around 2 a.m., the victim’s 52-year-old grandmother awoke to use the restroom and took her granddaughter, Omphile Sethole, with her before returning to bed. When the grandmother awoke again at around 6 a.m., the child was gone, and a window in the room was open”

Authorities have continued their search efforts, urging the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information.

The Limpopo Police Commissioner, Thembi Hadebe, clarified that reports suggesting the child had been found are false.

“This information is incorrect, and the infant girl has not been located.

“The search for the missing toddler continues,” Hadebe said.
