A couple has been caught on CCTV footage stealing a pair of trainers worth £50,000 from a store in Polanco, Mexico City.

Moments later, a woman—believed to be his partner—entered the store, headed straight for the valuable shoes, and hid them under her top. She then casually walked out of the shop into the busy crowd outside, unnoticed by staff.

A strange and mysterious incident occurred in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, after a man reportedly died while attempting to steal a traditional idol named “Agemo”

According to reports, the incident took place in the early hours of Saturday, April 12th, at Mafowoku Roundabout along Folagbade Road.

In a video shared online, a crowd could be seen gathered around the lifeless body of the man, lying on the ground near where the idol had been removed.

An eyewitness, Hakeem Quadri, who lives nearby, confirmed the incident to Punch. “The incident is real; it happened right in front of my house. We heard a commotion and came out to find that the Agemo statue had been removed. The man suspected of this act was lying there, dead,” he said.

A young mother, Lais Faustino, was tragically shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, Walisson Alves dos Santos, in front of her 7-year-old daughter. The devastating incident took place after Lais had ended their relationship, which Walisson refused to accept.

Lais was shot nine times by Walisson, who then turned the gun on himself in an attempted suicide. He survived the self-inflicted wound and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to police reports, the couple had broken up in December last year, but Walisson continued to harass and threaten Lais in the months that followed. In the days leading up to her death, he reportedly sent her several threatening messages and eventually confronted her at her workplace.

Lais had confided in a friend about the threats, saying she never believed he would actually hurt her. 

A neighbor reported hearing an argument in the backyard shortly before the shooting. Walisson was allegedly demanding to see Lais’s phone, and when she refused, he opened fire.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found both Lais and Walisson in the backyard. Lais was pronounced dead at the hospital, while Walisson survived and remains under medical care.

Medical examiners confirmed that Lais suffered at least nine gunshot wounds, including injuries to her chest, arm, and wrist.

Her 7-year-old daughter has since been placed in the care of her biological father and Lais’s sister. Lais was laid to rest the following day in her hometown of Eunápolis, Brazil.

Nigerian football legend, Christian Chukwu, has sadly passed away. The exact cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
