Actor Gene Hackman, His Wife, and Their Dog Found Dead at Home

Actor Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were reportedly found dead in their home along with their dog around 1:40 p.m.

According to police, officers conducted a welfare check at their apartment in Santa Fe at approximately 1:45 p.m. and discovered the couple deceased.

The County Sheriff’s deputies stated that there were no immediate signs of foul play, but the exact cause of death remains unknown.

Authorities reported that Gene and Betsy were found in separate rooms of their apartment, while their dog was discovered inside a kennel. Two other family dogs were found alive.

While confirming their passing, the couple’s daughter suggested that carbon monoxide poisoning may have been the cause of death. However, official investigations are still ongoing.
