Pope Francis Burial Rehearsal Rites Carried Out as He Battles Pneumonia

The Vatican has reportedly rehearsed funeral rites for Pope Francis after doctors warned that he may not survive his battle with pneumonia.

The Swiss Guard, responsible for protecting the 88-year-old pontiff, has been seen practicing the funeral proceedings in preparation for the death of the pope.

This follows Pope Francis’ previous revelation that he had already prepared his burial site. However, he hinted that both the location of his grave and the design of his coffin would break from traditional norms.

The Pope was rushed to the hospital last Friday after experiencing chest pain. Doctors diagnosed him with a respiratory infection, forcing him to cancel several engagements, including official Vatican duties.

“Laboratory tests, chest X-ray, and the Holy Father’s clinical condition continue to present a complex picture” The Vatican said

Years ago, Pope Francis had part of his lung removed, making this latest infection a serious concern.

According to Politico, two sources close to the Pope claim that he may not survive this time.

As news of his condition spreads, many people have traveled to Gemelli Hospital in western Rome, where he is being treated, to offer prayers for his recovery.
