Her close friend, identified as Mr Shen, said the influencer remained in contact with her grandmother until her final days, despite the challenges surrounding her illness.
Recalling their last conversations, he said:
“She stayed up for two days to video call her grandmother.

“In the last video call, her grandmother kept calling her by her childhood nickname, urging her to hold on.”
Mr Shen also disclosed that Xia’s estranged mother arrived at the hospital in Shanghai two days before her death, while her father visited the following day.
He said:
“Her parents didn’t say anything to Xiaxia, and their expressions were very calm.
“When Xiaxia closed her eyes for the last time, her mother still cried.
The close friend further revealed that Xia had initially tried to raise money for her medical expenses by selling handmade crafts at a physical stall.
However, as her health deteriorated, she could no longer continue running the stall and eventually moved her business online.
