A 22-year-old woman, Whitney Robeson, has tragically lost her life after being shot just days after starting the job she had always dreamed of.
Whitney was killed on the night of March 7 at a home in Trussville, Alabama. The incident happened around 9:30pm, and she was rushed to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Two months after her death, police arrested her 54-year-old boyfriend, Jeffrey Scott Towers, in connection with the case.
Earlier reports from local authorities had suggested the shooting was accidental, based on findings from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. However, further investigations led to Towers’ arrest.

Whitney had recently graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University in 2025, earning a degree in interior design. Not long after, she began working as a trade consultant with Restoration Hardware in Birmingham—a role her family said she had dreamed about since childhood.
“Whitney was hitting her stride exactly the way we always knew she would,” the tribute read.
She was also remembered for her love of travel, her close bond with family and friends, and her time as a member of the Delta Gamma sorority during her university years.
Her family added: “To have known Whitney, no matter where, how, why, or for how long, is to have been touched and transformed by her radiant soul.”
Following his arrest, Towers was released on a $30,000 bond and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
