6-Year-Old Mohammed Yaseen Uddin Dies in Sleep After Playground Head Injury

A six-year-old boy has sadly passed away in his sleep after bumping his head during a playground incident at school.

The boy, identified as Mohammed Yaseen Uddin, had been playing with his friends during lunchtime at Marlborough Primary School in Small Heath, Birmingham, when he accidentally ran into a wall while racing.

School staff quickly responded, with a first aider applying an ice pack to the bump on his head. Mohammed appeared to recover and began acting normally. When his mother and sister arrived at the school, they were reportedly advised to seek further medical guidance.

Tragically, Mohammed died later that night in his sleep.
His father, Simriel Uddin, previously told The Mail:”He was a bright, joyful spirit and he was a beautiful, kind-hearted little boy.

“He had a head collision in school -the school told my wife “Oh, your son has bumped his head.

“When she asked if it was anything serious they said, “No it’s nothing serious, it’s just a bump.

Later that day, Yaseen’s family went to a local mosque to celebrate one of his siblings’ achievements with a cake. It was after the celebration that Yaseen told his father he wasn’t feeling well. His father then gave him ibuprofen to help ease the discomfort.

At around 11 p.m., Yaseen began vomiting and complained of a severe headache. His parents immediately rushed to take him to the hospital. However, after vomiting in the car, they returned home to clean him up. During that time, Yaseen told them he no longer wanted to go to the hospital — he just wanted to sleep.

Tragically, a few hours later, he was found unresponsive and declared dead.

According to medical findings, Yaseen’s cause of death was identified as a traumatic right frontal extra-axial haemorrhage — a type of brain bleed that occurs outside the brain tissue but within the skull, often caused by a blunt head injury.
