Hiker found shirtless and bushy after being missing for 10days

Hiker Lucas McClissh has been found alive after being missing for 10 days without informing anyone of his plans.

He survived by drinking a gallon of water per day, eating wild berries, and sleeping on wild leaves, losing 30 pounds in the process. Lucas was last seen on June 11th after walking for three hours through Big Basin Redwood State Park in Boulder Creek, following a friend’s tip about rare granite outcroppings in the area.

Lucas didn’t tell anyone where he was going and took only a few supplies, as he planned to be out just for the afternoon. He didn’t even bother wearing a shirt, saying, “I left with a pair of pants, my hiking shoes, and a hat,” he told KGO-TV.

“I made sure I drank a gallon of water every day, but as time went on, my body needed food and some kind of sustenance,” he continued.

He recounted being followed by a mountain lion and how things worsened on the eighth day when he came down with hypothermia and slipped while climbing over a rock face. During that time, he began shouting for help for over 48 hours

He said, “Help, help, I’m over here.”

During the search, a drone was sent up, and he was located with the help of a sniffer dog. When he was rescued, he fortunately only needed one night in the hospital before he could return to his worried family.
