They Turned Up the Music in the Bus and Started Beating Us, Then Ordered Us to Unlock Our Phones – Lady Recounts One Chance Ordeal in Rivers State

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to narrate the frightening experience she allegedly had after boarding a vehicle operated by suspected one-chance criminals in Rivers State.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the visibly distressed woman explained that the incident began shortly after she entered the bus.

According to her, several men who were already inside suddenly turned up the volume of the music playing in the vehicle, making it difficult for anyone outside to hear what was happening.

She alleged that the men then became violent, attacking her and other passengers while demanding access to their mobile phones. The victims were reportedly forced to unlock their devices and open their banking applications as the attackers assaulted them.

The woman further claimed that the suspects compelled them to carry out money transfers through Point of Sale (POS) transactions. She also alleged that after gaining access to her phone, the attackers began sending messages to her customers, asking them to transfer money into her account. Unaware of the situation, some of the customers reportedly sent the requested funds, which the suspects immediately withdrew.

According to the victim, anyone who hesitated or failed to comply with the robbers’ demands was severely beaten. She said the assault left her with swollen eyes and other injuries.
