Killaboi Extradited from Doha to Nigeria 2 Years After Murdering His Girlfriend and Fleeing the Country

Years after the tragic murder of Augusta Oseodion Onuwabhagbe, Nigerian authorities have successfully extradited her confessed killer, Benjamin Nwachukwu, popularly known as Killaboi, from Doha, Qatar to Nigeria.

The spokesperson of the Nigerian Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced the development in a statement released today, Saturday, April 19, 2025.

According to the statement, Killaboi was returned to the country in the early hours of the day through a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Force Headquarters Abuja, and the Qatari Judicial Authorities.

The extradition process was set in motion following a petition filed by the deceased’s family through their legal representatives on September 29, 2024. The case was subsequently assigned to INTERPOL NCB Abuja for further investigation.

This comes after Killaboi had earlier confessed online to the murder of his late girlfriend at his residence located at 24a Abiola Apooyi Street, Oral Estate, Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023, before fleeing the country.

‎”‎Following his declaration as wanted by the NPF Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on 13th October 2023, an INTERPOL Red Notice was issued for his global apprehension. He was initially arrested in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on 20th October 2023 under the false identity “KANU PRINCETON SAMUEL,” but escaped custody during a prison break on 26th November 2023 in Feeetown.

“Further intelligence gathering revealed that the suspect continued to evade law enforcement, traversing multiple regions including West Africa, East Asia and the Middle East, under forged identities before eventually relocating to Doha, Qatar on 24th January, 2025. Operating under the alias “TOURE ABDOULAYE” with a fraudulent Guinean passport, he secured illegal employment and concealed his identity.”

INTERPOL offices in Abuja and Doha worked together to confirm the suspect’s identity. This led to his arrest by authorities in Qatar in February 2025. After Nigeria’s Ministry of Justice submitted an official extradition request, Qatari authorities approved it, and the suspect was successfully returned to Nigeria.
