Ladies, Don’t Change Your Name Just Because You Are Married – Woman Warns

A Nigerian woman has sparked conversation on social media after advising women not to change their names because of marriage.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the lady identified as Rachael revealed that she has been married for four years but has never changed her surname.

Her post drew mixed reactions, with one follower asking if she would still maintain her stance if she married into a wealthy or influential family like the Adelekes, Otedolas, Adenugas, or Dangotes.

In response, Rachael stood firm, insisting she would never change her name regardless of her husband’s background or status.
