The President departed Abuja on Thursday afternoon before arriving in Saudi Arabia, where he was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom, Yakubu Gambo, and Saudi Arabia’s Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.

According to a statement from the Presidency, the visit will provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection, devotion and prayers for Nigeria.

The Presidency explained that the President intends to use the spiritual journey to seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.
The statement added that his prayers will focus on the country’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
During his stay, Tinubu is expected to perform the religious rites associated with Umrah.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the pilgrimage.
