He is a hateful person — Amanda Seyfried slams late Charlie Kirk

Actress Amanda Seyfried has publicly addressed the criticism she received after commenting on the late Charlie Kirk, describing him as a “hateful person.” The Housemaid star stood firm in her views during a recent interview with Who What Wear, making it clear she will not retract her statement.

During the interview, Seyfried underscored her refusal to back down, stating:

“I’m not fing apologizing for that. I mean, for f**’s sake, I commented on one thing.”

She went on to explain the basis for her remarks, emphasizing that they were rooted in observable facts:

“I said something that was based on actual reality and actual footage and actual quotes. What I said was pretty damn factual, and I’m free to have an opinion, of course.”

After receiving significant pushback over her Instagram comment, Seyfried further addressed her critics, expanding on her thoughts about humanity and violence in society. In a detailed response, she wrote:

“We’re forgetting the nuance of humanity.

“I can get angry about misogyny and racist rhetoric and ALSO very much agree that Charlie Kirk’s murder was absolutely disturbing and deplorable in every way imaginable. No one should have to experience this level of violence. This country is grieving too many senseless and violent deaths and shootings. Can we agree on that at least?”

Her statement underlines her belief that concerns about hateful rhetoric and the tragedy of violent death are not mutually exclusive.

The comments follow the tragic shooting death of Charlie Kirk on September 10th while he was delivering a speech to students at Utah University.
