Fast & Furious Star Tyrese Gibson Arrested for Animal Cruelty After His Dogs Killed Neighbor Pet

Fast & Furious” star Tyrese Gibson has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty after turning himself in to authorities nearly a week after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

According to reports, the actor surrendered himself to the Fulton County Police Department and was released the same day on a $20,000 bail.

Police spokesperson Capt. Nicole Dwyer confirmed the news, telling the Associated Press: “We are glad he did the right thing and turned himself in.”

Authorities allege that Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs were involved in an incident that led to the death of another family’s pet. As of now, the dogs have not been turned over to law enforcement.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Gibson’s attorney Tanya Banks expressed sympathy for the family affected by the tragedy.

It was reported that four of Tyrese’s Cane Corso dogs escaped from his yard and attacked a neighbor’s five-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel on September 18 in Atlanta, Georgia.

After the incident, the neighbor, Harrison Parker, called 911 when he discovered his dog, Henry, lying dead in the driveway with broken ribs, puncture wounds, and internal bleeding.

Parker said he had only let Henry outside for about five minutes before finding him dead.

He told FOX 5: “He was probably one of the most wonderful dog.

“I know probably every animal owner says that, but he was incredible. He was so loving. He’s a little mischievous. He loved to go outside… And so he would paw at the door and I just opened the door, let him outside. He was well-trained. He had an invisible fence, which he learned the boundaries of very well.”

Four days after the attack, police contacted Gibson and asked him to surrender his dogs. He reportedly told officers he needed a few days to “figure things out.” The officer warned that if he didn’t hand over the animals immediately, a search warrant would be issued and the dogs would be confiscated.

According to a police report, Gibson later admitted over the phone that he believed his dogs were responsible for Henry’s death claiming that “that he knows it’s been an ongoing issue over the past few months with his dogs getting out,”

When police returned with a search warrant to seize the dogs, both Gibson and the animals were gone.

The report also noted that Gibson’s house manager informed officers outside the home that the dogs were no longer there and that Gibson had left the country.

In response to the incident, Gibson took to Instagram and wrote: “My well-needed mental health recovery begins now,”

“I’ll be gone till November peace.”

Despite the warrant, Gibson posted a video on his Instagram page showing himself playing with his dogs, clarifying that he was not on the run. He explained that he was in Los Angeles with his family and was fully cooperating with the police. The video also showed his dogs interacting playfully with smaller dogs.
