Islamic Man Who Attacked Synagogue Church, Killing 2 and Injuring 4, Identified and Shot Dead
The man behind the deadly attack on Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester has been identified as Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, hours after the tragic incident took place.
The attack occurred at 9:31 a.m. on Thursday, during the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
Witnesses reported that Al-Shamie rammed his black Kia Picanto hatchback into a crowd of Jewish worshippers, before stepping out of the car and stabbing multiple people indiscriminately.
According to police, the rampage left two people dead and four others injured before Al-Shamie was shot minutes later.
Clips circulating online, reportedly shared by the attacker’s father Faraj Al-Shamie, a trauma doctor who has worked with NGOs in warzones, revealed chilling footage of the aftermath.
Authorities confirmed that two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s were also arrested in connection with the attack as investigations continue.
Al-Shamie was identified after his name was linked to a property in Manchester. A neighbor later confirmed his identity after recognizing him from photographs released of the attacker.
Speaking to The Telegraph, one neighbor said: “He lived there 10 years, with no wife or kids that I could see. He never seemed to speak to anyone around here.
“I’d see him walking around in his pyjamas and slip-on sandals, carrying a shopping bag.
“He was quite bulked up and used to keep his exercise weights in his garage. I’d see them there”
It was reported that after the attack, Al Shamie attempted to force his way into the synagogue but was stopped by Rabbi Daniel Walker, who quickly barricaded worshippers inside to protect them.
Another man, Yoni Finlay, who also tried to intervene, was injured when he was struck by a stray bullet as police opened fire on Al Shamie about seven minutes after the attack began. He was rushed to the hospital, where he is said to be undergoing surgery.
An eyewitness, Khurram Rafiq, said he was driving past the church when he saw Al Shamie moving from victim to victim in what he described as a “robotic” manner, as though he “had a job to do.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Another Eye Witness, Mr. Rafiq, 35, a manager at a global tech firm, explained: “Initially I thought it was an accident and that the driver had lost control for whatever reason.
“But he then got out and stabbed the man who was lying on the ground. The knifeman walked through the front gates and stabbed at least two other men. I would describe him as an Asian man and he was going for anyone who was Jewish.
“The men he stabbed were all wearing the kippah. There was no shouting from what I could hear nor any religious slogans.

McGinty was taken into custody on Wednesday after a grand jury indictment filed on September 15 charged her with murder involving domestic violence. Her son died around August 9, 2024, when he was 18 months old.
According to the indictment, McGinty intentionally or wantonly caused the death of her son under circumstances described as showing extreme indifference to human life.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has since determined that the child’s cause of death was complications of congenital heart disease and what it described as willful non-compliance with medication administration. The manner of death was classified as homicide.

Wyatt was taken into custody on September 20 and booked into the Henry County Jail on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and cruelty to children. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest to TMZ.
According to the affidavit, officers were dispatched to an area in Georgia following a report of a domestic disturbance connected to a custody exchange.

The documents state that two people were involved in an altercation, while Wyatt was also present at the scene but was not one of the two people initially involved in the dispute.
According to an eyewitness cited in the affidavit, a fight later broke out between the two individuals before Wyatt allegedly pulled out a black 9mm Beretta and extended it through the window of a vehicle.
The witness claimed Wyatt then shouted: “Let that bitch come over here, so I can blow her brains out.”
Authorities said Wyatt admitted to holding the firearm but denied pointing it through the window or making threats.
Wyatt was released two days after her arrest after posting a $1,050 bond, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest warrant reflects the law enforcement account of the incident, while Wyatt has denied pointing the gun or making the alleged threats.

The second suspect, Mr. Levi, who is described as a band owner and musician, was accused of sexually abusing three boys at Owerrinta, Isialangwa.
Sharing an update about the case, Ochiegbu Marvelous wrote:
“Today, Mr. Ikechukwu Emmanuel who was accused in connection with the alleged defilement of a 9 year old girl at Umuana Ndume, Ibeku, was charged to court and he pleaded guilty,” he wrote.
“Also charged to court today was Mr. Levi, a band owner and musician, who was accused of s3xually abusing three boys at Owerrinta, Isialangwa. Both were remanded at Afara Correctional Centre Umuahia, Abia state.

Mother Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison After Putting Her Newborn Baby in Oven, Leading to the Baby’s Death

The tragic incident happened on February 9, 2024, when police were called to Thomas’ home in Kansas City at around 1:30pm following a report of a baby who was not breathing.
When officers arrived, they found the one-month-old baby with severe burns. Kansas City Fire Department personnel pronounced the child dead at the scene.

According to court documents, investigators were told that Mariah had intended to put her daughter down for a nap but mistakenly placed her in the oven instead of the crib.
A family member later told detectives that Mariah had said:
“I thought I put her in her crib and I accidentally put her in the oven.”
More than two years after her daughter’s death, the 28-year-old pleaded guilty on Tuesday to first-degree endangering the welfare of a child resulting in death.
Jackson County court records show that she was sentenced to 13 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. She was not given probation and will receive credit for time already served.
Thomas had initially been charged with first-degree murder, but that charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Investigators also documented evidence from the scene, including the baby’s clothing and a blanket that had burn damage.
Thomas initially declined to speak with detectives after being informed of her rights. She later agreed to provide a blood sample and allow investigators to access information from her cellphone.
When the original charges were announced in February 2024, then-Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker described the child’s death as a “gruesome” tragedy.
“We acknowledge the gruesome nature of this tragedy, and our hearts are weighted by the loss of this precious life,” Baker said at the time. “We trust the criminal justice system to respond appropriately to these awful circumstances.”
Court records show that prosecutors later added the first-degree murder charge, which was ultimately dismissed under the plea agreement.
Thomas will now serve the 13-year prison sentence imposed by the court.

Dulce reportedly underwent the cosmetic procedure on September 11 at an inmueble in the Del Valle area of Mexico City after finding Pink Glow Clinic through social media.
She had reportedly been preparing for her wedding, which was scheduled for December.

Dulce reportedly attended a consultation on August 27 and paid around £3,300, equivalent to 80,000 Mexican pesos, in advance for the procedure.
Reports state that she had also fasted for almost 18 hours before arriving for the surgery.
However, the address where the procedure took place was different from the location where she had initially attended her consultation.
When her relatives arrived at the second location, they reportedly found what appeared to be a residential building rather than a clinic. Reports said there was no visible Pink Glow Clinic sign outside the building.
Dulce arrived at the location at around 1pm on September 11.
About two and a half hours later, her family was urgently contacted and asked to come to the location after her condition deteriorated.
According to the family, a doctor told them that Dulce had suffered significant blood loss before going into cardiorespiratory arrest. Her body was later removed by forensic officers after 7pm, and authorities secured the premises.
Her partner, Emir Kaleb, said a staff member came out with Dulce’s belongings several hours after she entered the building and instructed him to call an ambulance.
He also claimed that staff members attempted to resuscitate her using oxygen and chest compressions but appeared not to have the emergency equipment he expected to see.
Mexican authorities have launched an investigation into Dulce’s death and secured the property where the procedure took place.
Reports state that prosecutors are investigating suspected negligent homicide and other possible offences. No confirmed arrest had been reported in the available reports, and the identity of the person who performed the procedure had not been publicly released.
Dulce’s family also raised concerns about the conditions surrounding the procedure. Her sister reportedly noticed needle marks beneath her ribs and on her buttocks, although the significance of those marks has not been officially established.
The family further said Dulce had expressed concerns that the facility did not have a blood bank.
They also claimed that a doctor had been “very rough” during a pre-operative test involving cannulas and needle punctures.
Dulce’s son, Didier González, paid tribute to his mother and described her as a “warrior.”
The social media accounts associated with Pink Glow Clinic were later reported to have removed their posts.

According to the Cameroon Tribune, the discovery was made on September 19, 2026, at the Mercy of God Ministry church in Nkoabang, located in the Nkol-Afamba district of Yaoundé.
Investigators reportedly broke through a concrete slab inside the church and discovered a coffin buried about 1.5 metres underground.

Inside the coffin was a body in an advanced state of mummification. The remains were reported to appear to belong to a woman who was dressed in traditional clothing.

In a video circulating online, locals could be seen confronting the man after discovering the woman’s body on the floor.
During the confrontation, Abboby was asked about what happened to the woman. In response, he claimed that he was not responsible for her death and alleged that the situation was connected to HIV.

The court heard that Groves sexually abused the girl over a number of years while she was still a child, including raping her nine times.
The victim, whose identity is protected, told the court about the lasting impact the abuse had on her childhood. Police praised her for what they described as her exceptional bravery in coming forward.
She said: “I am just a shell of my former self. I don’t remember chunks of my childhood because of what Groves did, and this is because of the trauma I have been through.
“People have said to me that I am not the bright, bubbly girl I once was.
“I have lost my childhood. I will never get it back.

Groves was subsequently arrested in connection with the abuse while he was in custody.
Police carried out a detailed investigation, while specialist support services were provided to the victim. Groves was charged in October last year, convicted by a jury in June and sentenced on September 9.
The jury unanimously found Groves, who was named as James Groves on the indictment and referred to as James during the sentencing hearing, guilty of 19 separate non-recent offences, including nine counts of rape.
In addition to his prison sentence, Groves will remain subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely.
