Mother of Four Sentenced to 13 Months in Prison for Faking Cancer and Raising $36,000 on GoFundMe

A mother of four has been arrested for allegedly faking cancer diagnoses to trick people into donating thousands of dollars.

The woman, identified as Tara Michelle Enoka, reportedly set up a GoFundMe campaign and shared emotional videos claiming she was battling cancer. Her story tugged at the hearts of many, leading to donations that totaled $36,000.

However, suspicions grew after Tara was spotted just three months ago competing in a kickboxing event in Bangkok, appearing to be in perfect health.

It could be recalled that back in 2021, Tara first claimed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Shockingly, just two days later, she also revealed she had allegedly been diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Authorities have since confirmed that Tara fabricated her illnesses

In the video, she said: “I was diagnosed with breast cancer and just as of two days ago, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer,” she said in a video she released at the time.
“We’re raising the money to help pay for the treatments I need to potentially save my life.”

When investigators reviewed her medical claims, it was discovered that everything she said was a lie. Following the probe, Tara was sentenced to 13 months in prison, with two months to be served behind bars.
