Woman Whose F£ce Was M!uled by a Ch!mpanzee Shares How She Looks Like 16yrs After the Att!ck
Charla Nash, the woman whose face was t**n off by a chimpanzee in 2009, has opened up about her recovery and how she looks today—16 years later.
Now 71 years old, Charla appeared in a recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia, where she spoke about her life-changing face transplant and the journey of survival after the attack that left her without her face, hands, eyelids, nose, and lips.

The attack occurred in February 2009, when Charla visited her friend, Sandra Herold, at her home in Connecticut. Sandra’s pet chimpanzee, Travis, suddenly became aggressive and viciously m-uled Charla, leaving her with injuries.
In a desperate attempt to stop the chimp, Sandra tried hitting him with a sh-vel and eventually used a kn!fe to stab him, but the animal did not back down. Eventually, police arrived and were forced to sh**t Travis on the spot.

Reflecting on the experience in her interview, Charla said: “It’s a wonderful thing and words can’t express the gratitude but I had this opportunity to live a better life.
“The nose and the upper lip I can’t feel yet, but little by little it’s coming back, I can feel my cheek and forehead, so it’s getting there.
“I was only drinking everything from through a straw and my goal is to be able to eat again.

“Life’s getting better, it is coming around slowly but yeah it’s getting better, It’s hard but it’s better.”
