I Have MBA Degree, I applied for 1,500 jobs but I was not given any Job- Man cries out

A 48-year-old father of four, Marcial Quinones, recently shared his struggles with unemployment in an interview with Business Insider.

Despite holding an MBA, Marcial expressed his frustration at being unable to find work, recalling a time when he could land high-paying tech jobs without even having a high school diploma.

He explained, “I wish there was an easier way, but traditional methods of job hunting have been overshadowed by artificial intelligence and a lack of human interaction.”

Marcial shared that he has taken on part-time jobs and even created his own inventory software to sell to companies, but he rarely receives interview opportunities. He also opened up about his difficult upbringing, growing up with an abusive stepfather and living in various youth shelters. 

He dropped out of school in the 7th grade and had his first child at 18.

In the 1990s, he applied for tech jobs under contract as companies were rolling out computers in offices.

With only a high school diploma, he secured a role as head technician for a computer company in Arizona. In 1999, he landed a job at Intel as an IT manager but eventually lost that position. 

Without a college degree, he enrolled in a community college in 2002, earned an associate degree in computer programming, and worked part-time for the school’s IT department.

Despite his qualifications, Marcial has found it difficult to secure a job in recent years. He shared, “I’ve walked into local businesses to inquire about work, and they tell me I wouldn’t be happy there because it’s not in my high-skilled profession. I’ve even tried leaving my education off my resume to avoid being overqualified, but my work history still shows it.”

He also revealed that he has applied for 1,500 jobs, receiving 5-10 rejection notices daily. “I used to get interviews for jobs where I beat out 600 people. Now, it’s hard to even get a foot in the door.”
