82yr old man ends it all over Romance scam on facebook

An 82-year-old grandfather, Dennis Jones, committed suicide after falling in love with a mystery woman he met on Facebook.

Dennis fell victim to a romance scam, where the woman, known as “Jessica,” persuaded him to invest in fraudulent cryptocurrency schemes. 

According to his family in a chat with CNN, Dennis felt overwhelmed by embarrassment and shame and took his own life on March 4th. 

It was reported that He and Jessica had been talking online for months, building a close relationship before she convinced him to invest in crypto.

In one of the chats with Jessica, Late dennis wrote: “I have been having dark thoughts about my life and it being over. Certainly, it looks like my financial life is done. Bankruptcy, legal and all that BS. It will be very painful and I’m not sure I can stand it.”

Dennis’ devastated children, Matt Jones and Adrianne Gruner, said they both planned to meet their father the same day he died to help him recover after he told them about the scam he got involved in.

Adrianne mentioned that Dennis was supposed to move in with her family to their farm in Virginia to rebuild his life.
