Former Colombian beauty queen found dead after being missing almost a year

Former Colombian beauty queen Ania Acosta has been tragically found dead, a year after she went missing. Reports indicate that she was laid to rest on Wednesday at the Colombian embassy.

Ania, a mother of one, was last seen on June 21st, 2023, when she was kidnapped in the western Mexican state of Michoacán.

Her last contact was at 1 am, when she informed her mother that she was in the municipality of Morelia and planned to travel to Guadalajara, the state capital. 

One of the family member said: “She communicated with the mother as if saying goodbye, that she was leaving, but that she loved us all, as if to let her understand that she was in danger,

“They (embassy) apologize because they did not do enough to rescue her, it is something that cannot be described, losing a loved one.”
