She sought treatment for a urinary infection at a primary care unit on March 10th. Despite feeling a mass in her abdomen, tests didn’t reveal the calcified fetus.
She was referred for further treatment at Ponta Porä Regional Hospital, where 3D imaging finally diagnosed her with lithopedion, a rare condition resulting from an ectopic pregnancy.

Since the fetus died during her pregnancy, her body couldn’t reabsorb it, and instead, it became encased in a calcium shell within her abdominal cavity.
As her infection worsened, Daniela underwent surgery on March 14th to remove the fetus, but unfortunately, she didn’t survive the procedure as she died on march 15th
