According to information released by police, the girl said the two men approached her on Whitechapel Road before leading her to Weavers Fields, where she was raped.
She was later discovered by a member of the public who came to her assistance.
The incident reportedly happened at around 11:30 p.m.
Following a public appeal on September 18, investigators received further information about the suspects. Police believe the two men fled on the day the appeal was made.
A £10,000 reward has also been offered through the independent charity Crimestoppers for information that could help locate the men.
Speaking about the investigation, Alexa Loukas, Regional Manager for London at Crimestoppers, said:
“A young girl was subjected to a horrific and traumatic attack.
“While identifying the two men police wish to speak to is a positive step, locating them remains crucial.
“If anyone has any information, no matter how small, about where they are, you can share that information with the independent charity Crimestoppers.
“You will never be asked to provide your name or identify who you are.
“Your information could help move the investigation forward and protect other young women from harm.”
