According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the home after the children were discovered alone and covered in bl00d on Saturday afternoon.

Authorities said the children, aged 6 and 3, had suffered multiple injuries, with investigators reporting that the older child sustained wounds that may require possible amputation of some fingers and potentially an arm due to the severity of the injuries.
Police said investigators believe a knife and a blunt object were used during the attack.
The discovery was reportedly made around 2:30 p.m. after the children’s grandmother and Gosnell’s former boyfriend went to the home following a phone call from the 6-year-old child, who told his grandmother that he was hungry.

Both children were rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where they were described as being in stable condition and expected to recover.
According to investigators, Gosnell returned to the home shortly after the children were found. Officials said she appeared distressed and was speaking rapidly.
She was taken for a mental health evaluation but attempted to leave and was later restrained on a stretcher.
Gosnell was denied bond and faces two counts of attempted murder, along with additional charges related to possession of a weapon during a vi0lent crime.
