Mother of Three Dies After Undergoing Tummy Tuck Performed by a Barber
According to her family, Rebeca had long hoped to undergo an abdominoplasty, a cosmetic procedure commonly known as a tummy tuck.
Follow the Elizabethblog channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDQN5lI1rcbSgriLG2M
Her sister, Ashley, said Rebeca told her she had found what she believed to be a qualified doctor, identified as Emanuel Hernández, who agreed to perform the surgery.
According to Ashley, just days before the operation, Rebeca informed Hernández that she had two hernias, a medical condition in which an organ or tissue pushes through a weak area in the muscle or surrounding tissue.

Despite this, Ashley alleged that Hernández assured her by saying he would be “killing two birds with one stone” before proceeding with the operation.
The surgery was reportedly scheduled for July 23, and Rebeca initially shared the address of a hospital in Santo Domingo Este, Dominican Republic, where she believed the procedure would take place.
However, on July 24, she reportedly underwent the surgery before her family received a call informing them that she had developed serious complications.
Ashley said she rushed to the location expecting to find a medical facility but instead found what she described as an ordinary house that had been converted into a clinic.
She claimed that when she arrived, Hernández allegedly fled the property by climbing over a fence.
According to Rebeca’s death certificate, she died from respiratory failure and pulmonary oedema, a condition involving the accumulation of fluid in the lungs.
Her family also alleged that the clinic lacked the essential medical equipment needed to stabilise her when complications developed.
Speaking to local media, one of Rebeca’s brothers-in-law said:
“She developed complications and fluid started building up in my sister-in-law’s lungs.

“That clinic didn’t have the equipment to drain the fluid or stop a haemorrhage.”
The family believes Hernández changed the location of the surgery at the last minute to avoid sharing the proceeds with the medical facility where Rebeca had completed her pre-operative examinations.
Following the incident, authorities reportedly launched an investigation and allegedly discovered that Emanuel Hernández was not a licensed medical doctor but a barber.
Investigators are continuing efforts to locate Hernández while examining the legality of the clinic, including whether it was licensed to perform surgical procedures and properly equipped to handle medical emergencies.
Rebeca is survived by her husband, Oscar, and their three children.

A fourth defendant, identified as native doctor Robinson Obajero Ojokojo, died while the trial was still ongoing.
According to prosecutors, Elozino Ogege was deceived into leaving after she was allegedly told she would be meeting an agent who could help her secure off-campus accommodation.
Instead, she was abducted and later murdered in what the prosecution described as a ritual killing allegedly connected to suspected “Yahoo Yahoo Plus” activities.
The tragic incident, which occurred in 2019, sparked widespread outrage across Nigeria and renewed calls for stronger action against ritual killings and internet fraud-related crimes.
Following the court’s decision, Delta State Solicitor-General Omamuzo Erebe (SAN) described the verdict as a landmark judgment that finally delivered justice to Elozino Ogege’s family after years of waiting.
He said the ruling also serves as a strong warning to individuals involved in ritual killings, kidnapping, and other violent crimes that they will eventually be brought to justice.
The judgment has also been welcomed by legal practitioners, community leaders, and advocacy groups, who described it as an important step in the fight against ritual killings and criminal activities linked to internet fraud.

Rare Two-Headed Gecko Named Simon and Garfunkel Goes Viral Over their Unusual Look
The tiny reptile unexpectedly hatched at Rockstar Geckos, a husband-and-wife breeding business located in Carbon County, northeastern Pennsylvania.

The gecko was born with dicephaly, a rare congenital condition in which an embryo partially splits into identical twins but fails to separate completely, resulting in a single body with two distinct heads.
According to a spokesperson for Rockstar Geckos, there was nothing unusual about the egg during incubation until it finally hatched on June 29.
At four weeks old, the tiny gecko weighs just 1.8 grams and has continued to grow stronger.
Speaking to NeedToKnow, Rockstar said: “They’re doing great.
“They seem to be doing well, so we’re very happy about that.”

Celebrating the reptile’s four-week milestone, the breeders shared an update online highlighting just how small the gecko still is.
They wrote:
“Here they are at 4 weeks old!
“I chose these photos specifically to show just how tiny they still are, only 1.8 grams.
“It’s hard to grasp until you see them next to a fingernail.”
The breeders also revealed that both heads are capable of feeding without assistance.
“Both heads eat independently, no assistance needed. Just look at that full tummy!”
Sharing another update to celebrate the milestone, the breeders explained that the gecko’s coordination has continued to improve as it grows.
They wrote:
“Here they are at 4 weeks old!

“I chose these photos specifically to show just how tiny they still are, only 1.8 grams.
“It’s hard to grasp until you see them next to a fingernail. On the bright side, their coordination is improving, and they’re starting to move a bit more as a team!”
According to the breeders, neither of the gecko’s heads currently appears to be dominant. They also noted that the positioning of the two heads prevents them from reaching or biting one another, which has helped reduce potential complications.

According to authorities, María’s body was discovered on Monday, approximately four miles from her home. Investigators said she had suffered multiple stab wounds and was found covered with a blanket.

Police also confirmed that her unborn baby was missing. María was expecting her first child.
Cali Mayor Alejandro Eder also announced that the city is offering a $62,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects and the safe recovery of the baby.
María’s mother, Alba Gomez, made an emotional appeal for the return of her granddaughter, Alahia, expressing hope that the baby is still alive.

She said:
“The only thing I ask with this appeal and with the hopeful faith I hold that my baby is alive – is for her to be found,”
“I ask that the people who have her search their hearts and return her to me.”
According to María’s family, she was at her boyfriend’s family home when she received a phone call from a woman who was later identified in surveillance footage as the person riding the motorcycle.
The family said María told them she was going with the woman to collect gifts for her unborn baby. They explained that she had recently met the woman at a centre for expectant mothers in Cali.
According to her sister, Juliana Meneses, María had an appointment with her obstetrician on the same day she disappeared.
Speaking to Univision’s news magazine Primer Impacto, Meneses said María’s boyfriend arrived to pick her up but could not find her.
She said:
“He arrived to pick her up at . . . but he didn’t find her and started to get worried.
“We thought maybe she was getting her nails done.”
The family later learned that María had left after receiving a phone call from a woman who allegedly invited her to collect gifts for her unborn baby. According to relatives, María had recently met the woman at a centre for expectant mothers.
In another Update, a man identified as Carlos Rincón shared a video on social media identifying himself as the former boyfriend of the woman believed to be the main suspect in the case.
Rincón said the suspect failed to return home on the day María disappeared. He also disclosed that the woman had told him in January that she was pregnant.

He said:
“I was excited about her pregnancy.
“And many people think I had something to do with it — the kidnapping and murder of the 21-year-old woman — because I had been the motorcyclist’s partner.
“We had nothing to do with it. We knew nothing. My family was another victim. We trusted her, we believed in her.”
Authorities have not announced any arrests in the case.
A spokesperson for the Cali Police said the investigation remains ongoing and declined to provide additional details while inquiries continue.

Mother and 15-Year-Old Daughter Die While Trying to Save Child Swept Away by Rising Tide at Beach

The heartbreaking incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, when emergency services received reports that several people were in difficulty in the water.
Follow the Elizabethblog channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDQN5lI1rcbSgriLG2M
Rescue teams, including police officers, paramedics, firefighters, lifeboat crews, coastguard personnel and air ambulance teams, rushed to the beach in a large-scale emergency response.
Despite their efforts, the mother and her teenage daughter could not be saved.
The West Mersea Coastguard Rescue Team later said it had “responded to a tragic incident” and expressed its condolences to the family affected.
According to Daily Dazzling Dawn, the two people who died were a mother and her 15-year-old daughter. The publication reported that the deaths were confirmed by Abul Kalam Azad, convenor of the UK Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and Khosruzzaman Khosru, the party’s UK member secretary.
The report stated:
“The family was enjoying a summer holiday trip to the seaside when the heartbreaking incident occurred.
“Other injured family members were airlifted to a London hospital by helicopter.”
It further added:
“Our source confirmed that the tragedy occurred due to an incoming high tide at West Mersea.
“The family was sitting near the shoreline when a six-year-old child was suddenly swept away by strong currents. Rushing into the water to save the child, both the mother and daughter tragically drowned”
The victims were not publicly identified. However, Daily Dazzling Dawn reported that the woman was the daughter of Mujibur Rahman, a former vice president of the UK BNP originally from Chhatak Upazila in Sylhet, Bangladesh.
The publication also stated that she was the wife of Dr. Mansur Rahman, leader of Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the BNP, and the son of Sylhet BNP leader Sheikh Makhan Mia.
Mr. Rahman reportedly confirmed he was present at the beach during the incident but was too distressed to comment further.
Witnesses described a massive emergency response, with at least six ambulances, numerous police vehicles, a fire engine, a lifeboat, two air ambulances and a coastguard helicopter deployed to the scene. A section of the beach remained cordoned off into the evening as investigators carried out their work.
West Mersea is known for rapidly changing tides and strong currents, which can quickly create dangerous conditions for swimmers and beachgoers.
Reacting to the tragedy, Essex Police Detective Chief Inspector Al Pitcher said:
“Today, our thoughts remain with the family members who are coming to terms with their loss.
“We are grateful to the people who have already spoken to us and helped with our enquiries.
“We would ask anyone who was at the beach at the time, and who has not yet spoken with officers, to please get in touch, to help us understand what happened.”
Essex Police also said its thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of everyone affected by the devastating incident as investigations continue.
