I Was on My Own. You Insisted We Go on a Date, Then Suddenly Wanted Us to Split the Bill – Lady Shares Why She Walked Out of a Dutch Date

A Nigerian woman has shared why she decided to end communication with a man after he suggested they split the bill during their first date.

In a video posted on TikTok, the woman explained that she had been talking to the man for about a month before they agreed to meet in person.

According to her, the man invited her out on a date, but before they met, he introduced the idea of having a Dutch date, where each person pays for their own meal.

She said she was not comfortable with the arrangement, adding that if she wanted to spend her own money on an outing, she could do so without accepting an invitation from someone else.

Expressing her opinion, she said:

“I was on my own. You insisted on us going for a date, and all of a sudden you’re introducing Dutch dates. If I wanted to go out and spend my money, I wouldn’t need a random man to take me out. I would simply settle myself.

“I’ll leave my house, prepare, do my hair, lashes and everything, then you’ll tell me you want a Dutch date? If you cannot sort the bill on a first date, what exactly are you bringing to the table? Thank God he asked before the date because I blocked and deleted his number immediately,”
