12-Year-Old Boy Mauled to Death by Crocodile While Washing His Hands at River
According to reports, the incident occurred on July 16 after the boy accompanied his uncle, Vijay Raj Singh, to help plant rice seedlings. After spending several hours working in the fields, they began their journey home to Tikuri and stopped by the river to wash before leaving.

Witnesses said Sunil struggled to free himself as his uncle shouted for help. Farmers and other villagers nearby rushed to the scene and reportedly threw bricks, stones, and sticks at the reptile in an attempt to force it to release the child.
Despite their efforts, the crocodile pulled the boy farther into the water until he disappeared from view.
Following the incident, police officers and personnel from the Bahraich Forest Division launched an immediate search operation. Rescue teams deployed nets across the river in an effort to locate the missing child, but the initial search was unsuccessful.
Authorities later recovered Sunil’s body from the river later that evening.
