Hallelujah- Husband of Freed Oyo School Principal Holds Thanksgiving Service After Wife Safe Release from Bandits

The husband of Mrs. Rachel Alamu, the principal of Ahoro Esinle School in Oyo State, has held a thanksgiving service following the safe release of his wife, who was abducted alongside 43 pupils, students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area on May 15.

Professor Alamu attended a church service on Sunday, July 12, where he joined members of First Baptist Church to thank God for the successful rescue of his wife and the other victims after weeks in captivity.

Photos and videos shared online captured the emotional moment as the professor and other worshippers sang songs of praise and gratitude during the thanksgiving service.

In one of the videos, Professor Alamu was seen joyfully dancing with members of the congregation as they repeatedly sang “Hallelujah”, celebrating the safe return of Mrs. Alamu and the other victims.

The thanksgiving service comes days after security operatives successfully rescued the abducted pupils, teachers and school principal following a coordinated operation involving multiple security agencies.

The rescue brought an end to weeks of anxiety for the families of the victims, who had been kidnapped during an attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
