He Said He Could No Longer Marry Me – Woman Reveals Fiance Called Off Wedding After She Lost Her Leg in a Accident

A 27-year-old woman identified as Loveth Sunday has opened up about how her fiancé called off their wedding after she lost her leg in a tragic road accident.

Speaking during an interview with PUNCH, Loveth recounted the heartbreaking incident, revealing that the accident claimed two lives while she narrowly survived.

She said:

“I was involved in a fatal accident. I said it was a fatal accident because it took two lives.

“It was a bus that had a brake failure that knocked me down where I was standing by the roadside. The bus veered off the road and hit three people, including me. Two people died while I survived. I didn’t see the bus coming towards me because it happened so fast.

“I was rushed to the hospital by sympathisers who were around the scene of the accident, and I was in a coma for five days. I was rushed to the first hospital but was rejected by the medical workers on the ground.

“A similar situation happened at the second hospital where the sympathisers took me to; I was rejected by five hospitals. I was attended to at the sixth hospital.

“It happened on the 12th of April 2019, at the front of Oraifite Police Station. I was going to Onitsha to buy one or two items for one of my siblings.”

Loveth said her parents were devastated after seeing the severity of her injuries and feared she would not survive.

She said:

“Yes, my parents came. They were heartbroken, and they thought I wasn’t going to make it because of how bad my leg was. The accident was so bad that anyone who saw me on that day would think I was going to die. But I thank God I am still alive.

“The two legs, according to the doctor, were to be amputated, but God intervened. I regained consciousness in the hospital I was taken to. That was when I noticed what happened. The hospital said the leg had been damaged and that they would not be able to fix it.

“They then transferred me to another hospital at Ojoto in Anambra State. It is called Uzondu Orthopaedic Hospital. Immediately, we got to the hospital, the doctor came down, checked me, and said the leg was dead and would be amputated. I felt so bad. I was so scared and began to think I was not going to make it.

“My parents disagreed with the doctor because the entire situation came to them as a shock. Then the doctor said that if they refused to approve that my leg should be amputated, the bacteria in the leg that was causing my left leg to decay could move to my heart and might cause serious damage that could lead to death.

“The doctor specifically said I might not survive it if it got to that stage. My parents wanted me alive, but they were scared when they heard that my leg would be amputated.

“So, they thought I was going to die. That was why they were against it in the first place. But after all the medical process, they were happy that I was alive.”

According to Loveth, although her parents initially refused to consent to the amputation, the doctor later convinced her that removing the leg was the only way to save her life.

She added:

“No, they still refused to give their approval. But when they maintained their stance on not supporting the amputation of my left leg, the doctor convinced me to do it (allow my leg to be amputated so that I can be alive)

“According to the doctor, if I survive the situation, it is my life, and if I don’t survive it, it is still my life.

“At the time, we were told to deposit N350,000. Then, after the expenses in the hospital, the sum of N2.5m had already been spent.”

Speaking about life after the amputation, Loveth disclosed that she once bought a prosthetic leg herself, but it later became faulty, forcing her to return to using crutches.

She said:

“Yes, I bought one for myself, but it later had issues with the foot. That was why I went back to using crutches. I currently need a prosthesis. At the moment, people who have tried to help have asked me if I have heard about a prosthesis. I said yes.

“Someone has also told me to measure my leg and send the measurement to him. I have done that and sent it to the person. I am still waiting and hoping in God. Then a man told me to go to a tailor who would measure me from my waist down to my foot.

“I was told that there are varieties of prostheses with different prices. There is one they said I could manage. It will help me to walk. I was told the price is N850,000. There is another one they said I would be free with. I was told that one is N1.5m.

“Then there is another with silicone that will enable me to do anything I want to do. They said that one is N2.5m. I am trusting God that one day, I will be able to get it so that I can be able to walk without hindrance.

“My parents do not really have money.”

Loveth also revealed that her introduction ceremony had taken place just weeks before the accident, but the relationship came to an end shortly afterwards.

She said:

“Yes, the introduction ceremony was on the 23rd of March, and then I had an accident on the 12th of April 2019.

“At first, when he was called, he came to the hospital. After he left, he stopped calling; he stopped checking on me, and that signified the end of the relationship.”

When asked if she later contacted him, Loveth replied:

“Yes, I did, but he said he would not be able to continue with the relationship.”

She added:

“Yes, I was still at the hospital when he told me that. He said he was no longer interested in marrying me.”

Despite the painful experience, Loveth said she found strength in God.

She said:

“(Sighs) I thank God I did not give up or die because I was expecting him to encourage me and not the other way round. But I thank God, I encouraged myself by believing in God that things will surely get better.”

She also disclosed that while some of her friends stood by her, others, including her best friend, abandoned her during her recovery.

She said:

“They visited me, but not all are with me now. Some of them are with me, while others left because of my condition. First, I felt bad that my fiancé left me. It is also painful that my best friend didn’t come to visit me at the hospital at all.

“Till today, my best friend has not checked on me. But all thanks to God Almighty, because it really showed me the kind of people I was dealing with in the past.”

Speaking on whether the driver compensated her after the accident, Loveth said only ₦50,000 was given through the driver’s brother despite her family spending millions on treatment.

She said:

“He did not pay any compensation. The driver did not even come to the hospital; it was his brother who came there. He came with some people, and when my parents began to talk to them, they brought N50,000. But we eventually spent N2.5m on treatment.

“They said they had already sold their land to do the burial of the two ladies who died in the accident.

“When I started shouting at the driver’s brother, he said, ‘I think you want to get married; let me marry you then.’ So, my siblings told them to get up and leave. They did not pay any other money than the N50,000 they brought.

“The doctor told them that they were wrong to have mocked me. The doctor said they made me lose my marriage and a leg.”

Let Her Go Back to Her Country and Sing There, We Don’t Want Her Here – Nigerians React as Tyla Announces Lagos Stop for Her World Tour

South African singer Tyla has come under criticism from some Nigerians on X (formerly Twitter) following the announcement of her upcoming APOP World Tour, which includes a performance in Lagos.

The Grammy-winning singer recently unveiled the tour schedule, revealing that she will perform in Lagos on December 22 before wrapping up the tour with concerts in Cape Town on January 4 and Johannesburg on January 9.

However, the announcement sparked mixed reactions online, with several Nigerian social media users calling for the cancellation of the Lagos concert.

Many of those opposing the concert linked their reactions to the recurring reports of xenophobic attacks against other African nationals in South Africa.

Some users argued that, given the history of attacks on foreign Africans, including Nigerians, it would be inappropriate to host the South African singer in Lagos unless there is visible progress in addressing the issue.

The Nigerian Economy Has Turned Men Into Something Else, the Economy Is Affecting Relationships – Lady Laments Being Single for 4 Years

A Nigerian woman has shared her perspective on how the country’s economic situation is affecting relationships, saying the financial challenges many people are facing have changed the way some men approach dating.

In a video shared on X, the woman revealed that she has been single for the past four years despite receiving attention from men.

According to her, most of the men who approach her are either married or significantly older, a situation she said has left her wondering why she has been unable to find a suitable partner.

Follow the Elizabethblog channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDQN5lI1rcbSgriLG2M

She explained that she once questioned whether something was wrong with her and even sought spiritual guidance through prayers before concluding that the issue was not personal.

The woman said she now believes that the country’s economic hardship has had a noticeable impact on relationships, with many people focusing more on survival than long-term commitment.

She said:

“I’ve been single for 4 good years now. I won’t say men don’t approach me, but the type of men that approach me are people’s husbands. Married men, older men.

“And I’m like what’s going on. I’m just in my twenties. Later I figured out that nothings wrong with me cause at some point I went for prayers. I’ve now noticed that a lot of men are going through a lot. This economy has turned men into something else. Nobody has time.

“Even the young ones that are coming to me, they’re like see let’s just do business. Nobody wants to be committed again. Some men have even turned to Agege. There’s this guy I know he looks completely normal but this guy’s pure Agege. The economy is really messing up with people. It takes the grace of God to see a good man no”

Real Estate Agent Arrested 13 Years After Woman Was Stabbed More Than 100 Times

A Texas real estate agent, Mayra Velasquez, 42, has been arrested in connection with the 2012 killing of Irasema Chavez, a case that remained unsolved for more than a decade before investigators uncovered new evidence through advanced DNA technology.

Mayra Velasquez

Authorities confirmed that Velasquez was taken into custody on July 17 and booked into the Tarrant County Corrections Center. She is currently being held without bond while legal proceedings move forward.

Follow the Elizabethblog channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDQN5lI1rcbSgriLG2M

The investigation dates back to January 20, 2012, when Chavez was discovered dead inside her apartment after suffering more than 100 stab wounds in what investigators described as an extremely violent attack.

Irasema Chavez

When officers arrived at the scene, they found no signs of forced entry. This led detectives to believe that the victim may have known the person responsible or had willingly allowed them into her home before the attack occurred.

One of the few clues available at the time was surveillance footage captured the night before the killing. The video showed an unidentified person dressed in loose-fitting clothing and a hooded sweatshirt climbing the stairs to Chavez’s apartment. The individual was seen knocking on the door, briefly speaking with someone inside, and then entering the apartment.

Although investigators collected blood evidence at the crime scene that did not belong to the victim, DNA testing conducted at the time failed to identify a suspect because there were no matching profiles in existing law enforcement databases.

In an effort to solve the case, detectives submitted the DNA sample to Parabon NanoLabs in 2016. Scientists used forensic DNA analysis to predict the suspect’s likely physical characteristics, including ancestry, eye color, hair color, and skin tone, creating a genetic profile to assist the investigation.

The breakthrough came in 2024 when the Arlington Police Department partnered with the FBI Dallas Field Office to apply Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG)—a technique that combines crime scene DNA with publicly available genealogy records and family history research to identify potential suspects.

After nearly two years of additional investigative work, authorities developed new evidence that ultimately led to Velasquez’s arrest.

Investigators have not disclosed the exact nature of the evidence that resulted in the arrest warrant, nor have they confirmed whether it included a direct DNA match. Officials have also not revealed whether Velasquez and Chavez had any prior relationship.

Velasquez remains in custody without bond, and court officials have not yet announced the date of her first court appearance.

As the legal process continues, investigators are expected to release additional details about the evidence that brought the 13-year-old homicide investigation to this stage.

He Told Me, You Better Not Hang Up This Phone – Blac Chyna Sues Ex-Boyfriend, Says She No Longer Feels Safe

Reality television personality and entrepreneur Blac Chyna has made fresh allegations against her former partner, Twin Hector, claiming he repeatedly contacted her after their relationship ended and refused to accept that they had broken up.

According to newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ, Chyna alleged that Hector called her numerous times on April 28, 2026, during both the afternoon and evening hours.

Follow the Elizabethblog channel on WhatsApp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbDQN5lI1rcbSgriLG2M

She claimed that when she eventually answered one of the calls, Hector remained on the phone with her for about 10 minutes while she stayed silent. During the conversation, Chyna alleged that he made comments that left her feeling threatened.

According to the court filing, Hector allegedly told her:

“So you can run as long as you want, but you’re never gonna be able to hide from me.”

Chyna further claimed that he also warned her not to end the call, allegedly saying:

“You better not hang up this phone.”

She alleged that Hector insisted he had the right to keep calling her even if she no longer wanted any contact with him.

In the legal documents, Chyna described Hector’s behavior as “fixated, possessive and unwilling to accept that our relationship ended.” She said his alleged actions left her “extremely frightened,” adding that she feared he could locate and potentially harm her or members of her family.

Chyna also alleged that on June 16, Hector sent her a message asking which city she was in, a communication she said further heightened her concerns for her safety.

Beyond the allegations of unwanted contact, Chyna claimed that false statements allegedly made by Hector have negatively affected her professional reputation and career.

She is asking the court to allow her countersuit against Hector to move forward while opposing his request to have the case dismissed.

The legal dispute stems from an earlier lawsuit filed by Twin Hector, in which he accused Chyna of assault and battery. Chyna has denied those allegations and responded by filing a countersuit, with both parties now continuing their legal battle in court.
