Five people were injured and one person died after a small business jet carrying six passengers crashed onto a highway in Texas.
The aircraft, a NetsJet-operated Cessna Citation Latitude, reportedly departed San José del Cabo, Mexico, and was headed for Austin, Texas, before it diverted toward Laredo on Tuesday, June 16.

According to reports, the jet lost contact before going down on a highway approximately three miles from Laredo International Airport, following what is believed to be a mechanical failure.
Footage shared on social media showed bystanders using a sledgehammer and shovel to break the cockpit window and open the aircraft door in an effort to rescue those trapped inside.
An eyewitness, Zayra Garza, speaking to KARK, said:
“It looked like part of a movie. I was in shock.”
She also noted that three individuals who were pulled from the wreckage appeared to be teenagers, along with another person believed to be a pilot.
Confirming the incident, police stated that five people sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital, while one person was confirmed dead.
Laredo Police Public Information Officer Jose Baeza told CNN:
“Regrettably and tragically, there is one deceased involved in this crash.”
Authorities also confirmed that five responding police officers were taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries during the rescue operation.
