Thai police disguise themselves in women clothing as they arrest wanted drug lord

Police in Thailand have gone viral after a group of officers disguised themselves in women’s clothing as part of an undercover operation to arrest an alleged drug dealer.

Photos released by authorities showed five male police officers dressed in colorful female outfits alongside a female officer as they carried out the sting operation.

According to reports, the operation led to the arrest of a suspect identified as Mekha Fa-wap-wap, who is accused of involvement in methamphetamine trafficking.

Authorities said they recovered more than 53 methamphetamine pills during the raid, along with around 200 plastic bags allegedly used for packaging and selling drugs. Officers also reportedly seized a mobile phone believed to have been used to operate an illegal online gambling business.

The suspect was subsequently charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics with intent to sell and operating an illegal online slot machine.

The operation was led by Police Colonel Panthep Panadi. Following the arrest, the officers, still dressed in their brightly colored and sequined outfits, posed for photographs behind the handcuffed suspect at a police station in Tha Luang district.

Images from the unusual arrest quickly gained attention online, with many social media users amused by the officers’ creative approach to the operation.

Authorities later shared one of the photos on social media with a humorous caption that read: “We didn’t want to go out and arrest him, it’s a waste of costume rental.”
