US to Issue Limited-Edition Passports Featuring Donald Trump photo for America250
The United States is preparing to issue passports to its citizens featuring the photo of Donald Trump to mark 250 years of independence from a monarchy. This new design is scheduled for release this summer and “will display Donald Trump’s photograph on the inside cover, surrounded by the text of the Declaration of Independence and the US flag, with his signature rendered in gold.”
Additional design elements include: A separate page featuring the “famous painting of the founding fathers signing that very document, Customized artwork and “enhanced imagery” while maintaining existing security features.

State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott described the US passport as one of “the most secure documents in the world.” The department intends to release a “limited number” of these passports for the “historic occasion,” though the exact total has not been confirmed.
These passports are part of the “America250” celebrations, a program that also includes:
A Grand Prix race on the National Mall and A UFC fight held on the White House south lawn.
The passport follows several other instances where the president’s image has been placed on public documents and institutions. A banner of his face “already graces” the Department of Justice, with similar displays at the Department of Labor and the Department of Agriculture.
National Parks Pass: The 2026 pass features Trump’s face alongside George Washington’s under the words “America the beautiful.” The National Park Service “updated its policy” to warn that altering the pass could make it invalid after visitors began covering the image.
Currency and Coins: The US Mint has drafted designs for a $1 coin and “approved a design” for a 24-karat gold coin featuring the president.
Victory Arch: A 250-foot golden arch, known as the “Arc de Trump,” received preliminary approval this month despite “overwhelmingly negative public feedback.” It is planned to stand taller than the Lincoln Memorial.

FIFA Responds After Empty Seats Were Spotted During World Cup Opening Matches
FIFA has responded to concerns after empty seats were spotted in sections of stadiums during the opening matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, tickets for the World Cup final in New Jersey reportedly began at a staggering $8,680 for standard seating, making it one of the most expensive sporting events to attend.
Following the reactions, FIFA released an official statement explaining that attendance figures are not determined by visual assessments of occupied seats.
The statement read:
“Official attendance figures reflect the number of tickets scanned and spectators present within the stadium footprint, rather than visual assessments of seating occupancy at any given moment during the match.

“FIFA works closely with stadium authorities and ticketing teams to ensure all published figures are based on verified operational data.
“Please note that, during last night’s match in Guadalajara, several ticketed fans could be seen standing in concourses rather than staying in their assigned seats throughout the match.”

To support its explanation, FIFA also released an image showing a largely filled stadium during one of the matches.
