Secret Service Agent Accidentally Sh£ots Himself While Guarding Jill Biden

A United States Secret Service agent accidentally sh£t himself in the leg while on duty protecting former First Lady Jill Biden at Philadelphia International Airport on Friday.

According to KYW Newsradio, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. while the agent was assisting with escort duties at the busy airport, where Joe Biden’s wife was present.

A spokesperson for the Secret Service, Nate Herring, confirmed that the agent sustained a non-life-threatening injury after what was described as a “negligent discharge” while handling his service weapon. The agent was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Speaking on the incident, Herring said: “There was no impact to the protectee’s movement, and they were not present at the time of the incident”

Officials from Philadelphia Police Department told CBS Philadelphia that the gun discharged while the agent was inside an unmarked Chevrolet SUV near the 1 PIA Way access point and the Pennsylvania Tower.

Law enforcement officers and emergency responders were present at the scene shortly after the incident occurred.

“The Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility will be reviewing the facts and circumstances of this incident,” the spokesperson added.

“We are grateful for our law enforcement and public safety partners who provided medical assistance.”

The accidental discharge comes months after another Secret Service agent assigned to protect Vice President JD Vance was placed on leave in January for allegedly sharing sensitive job details with a woman who secretly recorded him.
