Man Lands in Hospital After Calling Off Wedding When Friend Who Warned Him About His Fiancée Was Later Found Dating Her
A man has taken to X to share how he ended his planned wedding with his former girlfriend after receiving a serious warning from a close friend.
In his post, the man explained that he had proposed to his girlfriend in 2024 and she happily accepted. However, his friend was strongly against the relationship from the beginning.
According to him, the friend repeatedly expressed concerns about the woman and advised him not to proceed with the marriage.
Curious about his friend’s strong objections, the man said he eventually asked him to test her character.
After the test, he noticed something unusual. His friend suddenly stopped criticizing the woman and began saying positive things about her.
He also revealed that his friend would often update him about her activities and later began describing her as a good woman.
He wrote: “I dated this girl for about four years, and during that time I supported her through school because, according to her, her parents couldn’t afford to pay her fees and they’re useless. I did everything I could to make sure she was comfortable and able to finish her education. Late in 2024, I decided to propose to her, and she accepted. I felt like I was on top of the world cos she was the love of my life. However, I had a friend who always warned me about her. He kept telling me that he didn’t fully trust her and advised me to test her before rushing into marriage. I eventually decided to try it, and I used that same friend to set up the test.
At first, he would update me on how things were going. But after a while, he suddenly stopped saying anything negative about her. Instead, he began praising her and even encouraged me to go ahead with the marriage, saying she was a good woman. Something about that change felt strange to me. One day, the girl said she was going out, and I decided to follow her without her knowing. To my surprise, she went to a hotel. When I got inside, I found her in a room with that same friend who had advised me to test her. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
She tried to make excuses and defend herself, but I had already seen enough to understand what was going on. I immediately called off the engagement. Honestly, the experience broke me for a while. For almost two months, I couldn’t sleep or eat properly. Thinking about everything I had invested in her… her education, my time, and my trust, made the betrayal even more painful. And to make matters worse, it wasn’t just her who betrayed me, but also my friend. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, and it almost destroyed me. But looking back now, I’m grateful I survived it.”

The account, which has circulated on social media, claims that Mchuna collapsed during the celebration on February 14. She was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where doctors reportedly suspected poisoning.
According to the Facebook post, Mchuna had been in good health before the incident and was running several Airbnb businesses in different towns. She had reportedly organised a birthday party to celebrate the occasion with friends and loved ones.
In his account, Muthiora alleged that Mchuna’s family reported the incident to the police, treating it as a suspected attempted murder case.

Despite the family’s reported efforts to seek answers, the Facebook post claimed that no one had been arrested or summoned in connection with the incident.
It remains unclear from the account whether a formal investigation is ongoing or whether authorities have identified any suspects.

The Facebook post further claimed that Mchuna spent several months in the intensive care unit (ICU) following the incident.
According to Muthiora, doctors reportedly said she had suffered 50 per cent brain damage. The post also claimed that she was left unable to speak, walk, see or eat independently.
Muthiora expressed concern about the circumstances surrounding the incident and the possibility that the alleged poisoning may have involved someone within Mchuna’s social circle.
He wrote:
“DISTURBING! Fear friends 😭! On 14th February, this beautiful lady, Roselyn Ashanti Mchuna, woke up in high spirits since it was her birthday. She was doing well at the time with a chain of AirBnb businesses in several towns. To celebrate this milestone, Chunna as she is fondly referred by family and friends threw a lavish birthday party.
Unknown to her, among the ‘friends’ a snake was smithering with jealous. Chunna was allegedly poisoned according to Doctors treating her. She collapsed at the party, taken to hospital, never to talk, walk, see or eat again. For months she was in the ICU. According to the doctors, she suffered 50% brain damage.
Even after the family reported the matter as an attempted murder, nobody was ever summoned or arrested. Chunna is now under the care of her mom.”

The girl, identified as Yuleidy Ixcotoyac, was reportedly declared dead after losing consciousness while her father, Abraham Ixcotoyac, was driving her to a medical centre.

According to reports, her father checked her pulse and breathing but could not detect either. She was subsequently declared dead in the early hours of Saturday.
He added, “I saw that she was no longer breathing and I couldn’t feel her pulse on her wrists. It was a very difficult situation for me. She did not go to hospital.”
About eight hours later, funeral preparations were underway at the family home in the rural village of El Jocote. Mourners reportedly gathered around 2:30 p.m. after a coffin had been purchased.
However, the funeral took an unexpected turn when Yuleidy reportedly began moving inside the coffin.
Her mother, who said she had insisted that her daughter was still alive, recounted the moment she noticed movement while crying over the coffin.
Speaking about what happened, she said, “I kept saying she was alive; she wasn’t dead.
“When I was crying over her coffin, we opened the window, and she was moving. She was waking up, and suddenly she sat up.”
The incident left the family and mourners shocked as the girl, who had been declared dead earlier, reportedly showed signs of life during the funeral preparations.
