Man Lands in Hospital After Calling Off Wedding When Friend Who Warned Him About His Fiancée Was Later Found Dating Her

A man has taken to X to share how he ended his planned wedding with his former girlfriend after receiving a serious warning from a close friend.

In his post, the man explained that he had proposed to his girlfriend in 2024 and she happily accepted. However, his friend was strongly against the relationship from the beginning.

According to him, the friend repeatedly expressed concerns about the woman and advised him not to proceed with the marriage.

Curious about his friend’s strong objections, the man said he eventually asked him to test her character.

After the test, he noticed something unusual. His friend suddenly stopped criticizing the woman and began saying positive things about her.

He also revealed that his friend would often update him about her activities and later began describing her as a good woman.

He wrote: “I dated this girl for about four years, and during that time I supported her through school because, according to her, her parents couldn’t afford to pay her fees and they’re useless. I did everything I could to make sure she was comfortable and able to finish her education. Late in 2024, I decided to propose to her, and she accepted. I felt like I was on top of the world cos she was the love of my life. However, I had a friend who always warned me about her. He kept telling me that he didn’t fully trust her and advised me to test her before rushing into marriage. I eventually decided to try it, and I used that same friend to set up the test.

At first, he would update me on how things were going. But after a while, he suddenly stopped saying anything negative about her. Instead, he began praising her and even encouraged me to go ahead with the marriage, saying she was a good woman. Something about that change felt strange to me. One day, the girl said she was going out, and I decided to follow her without her knowing. To my surprise, she went to a hotel. When I got inside, I found her in a room with that same friend who had advised me to test her. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

She tried to make excuses and defend herself, but I had already seen enough to understand what was going on. I immediately called off the engagement. Honestly, the experience broke me for a while. For almost two months, I couldn’t sleep or eat properly. Thinking about everything I had invested in her… her education, my time, and my trust, made the betrayal even more painful. And to make matters worse, it wasn’t just her who betrayed me, but also my friend. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, and it almost destroyed me. But looking back now, I’m grateful I survived it.”
