Abandoned Baby Found Behind Market in Nasarawa State

Residents of Mararaba Udege were shocked after an abandoned baby was discovered behind the town’s main market.

According to reports, the child was found on Friday, March 6, 2026, behind the Main Market in the area.

People who discovered the baby quickly stepped in to help and took the child to the nearby Mararaba Police Station to ensure the baby’s safety.

After receiving the child, police officers reportedly handed the baby over to a woman identified as Miss Esther, who lives in Anguwan Durunwa in Mararaba Town.

She has been asked to temporarily care for the baby while authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.

Police are expected to continue inquiries to determine who left the child and why the baby was abandoned.
