Man Reportedly Arrested After Refusing to Return ₦1 Million Mistakenly Sent to His Account

A social media user has shared a story online about a man who was reportedly arrested after refusing to return money that had mistakenly been transferred to his bank account.

The user, identified as yk_xiany, posted about the incident on the social platform X, claiming the man was detained after declining multiple requests to refund the money.

According to the post, an organization accidentally transferred a total of ₦1 million into the man’s account. After discovering the mistake, representatives of the organization allegedly contacted him and asked that he return ₦900,000 while keeping ₦100,000 as a gesture of appreciation.

However, the man reportedly refused to return the funds.

The social media user claimed that after the refusal, efforts were made to track the man down. According to the post, investigators were eventually able to locate him with assistance from his mother and his girlfriend.
