Social media influencer María Paola Galeano has stirred controversy online after sharing videos of her birthday celebration inside prison.
The celebration, which reportedly took place on February 25, quickly gained attention after clips posted on TikTok showed Galeano celebrating with fellow inmates in a pink-themed party.
In the videos circulating online, the prison celebration appeared unusually elaborate. The scene featured a sound system, a golden tablecloth, decorative flowers, and numerous pink and gold balloons filling the space as Galeano marked her birthday with her cellmates.
The footage quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.
Galeano was arrested in 2014 in connection with a robbery-homicide that reportedly occurred in 2013. According to reports, the victim, Carlos Alberto Gauna, was killed during an attempt to steal his pickup truck in La Matanza Partido.
Following legal proceedings, Galeano was sentenced to 13 years and four months in prison for allegedly acting as an accomplice in the crime.
Despite being incarcerated, Galeano has continued to draw attention online. In a previous interview about her life and story, she revealed that companies had approached her with business opportunities.
“I’m given product deals and job offers, mainly for ads and casinos.”
Shortly after the interview, her device was reportedly confiscated in August.
