A 19-year-old man has been arrested by police for the m£rder of a 30-year-old pregnant woman, Eliza Morales, after they met through Facebook Marketplace.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred on January 27. The suspect, Nedas Revuckas, allegedly att@cked Morales before setting her house on f!re.
According to police, Revuckas later confessed to the crime, stating that he was dissatisfied with a red 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck he had purchased a week earlier from Morales’ husband via Facebook Marketplace.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed Morales earlier giving Revuckas a screwdriver to help switch the vehicle’s license plates. Shortly afterward, he was seen approaching the family’s apartment door with the tool hidden behind his back. About 20 minutes later, smoke was seen coming from the apartment.
Police and firefighters responded to the scene, extinguished the fire, and discovered Morales deceased inside the apartment. Authorities said Morales tried to stop Revuckas from entering her home and attacking her.
Investigators revealed that during the struggle, Morales mentioned she was pregnant, but the suspect allegedly continued the att@ck.
Morales’ dog was also injured while attempting to protect her.
