Man arrested by police over traffic violation
A 41-year-old man identified as Rocky Ray Munoz has been arrested by police after being found in possession of large quantities of illegal drugs during a traffic stop.
According to information shared by the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office, officers stopped a black Lincoln at the 11500 block of the Gulf Freeway for a traffic violation. During the stop, authorities recovered 22 grams of crack coc£ine, 16.1 grams of Xanax (Alprazolam), 7.0 grams of pressed fentanyl pills, and 16.6 grams of Adderall (Amphetamine).
Following the discovery, charges of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Deliver a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2 were accepted against Munoz.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center. While being processed, authorities discovered that Munoz had initially provided false information. He was later positively identified through fingerprints and a Texas driver’s license as Rocky Ray Munoz, age 40.
Further checks revealed that Munoz also had an active warrant for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 issued by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The warrant was confirmed, and he was booked without incident.
Munoz’s bonds were set at a total of $100,000 for two of the cases, while bond has not yet been set for the third charge.
