A suspect has been arrested following the fatal sh–ting of 28-year-old Sam Linehan, who was attacked while waiting in her car at a Starbucks drive-thru.

Police were called to the scene and found Sam critically injured inside her vehicle. She was later pronounced dead. Authorities immediately launched a manhunt after CCTV footage reportedly showed a man wearing a construction vest and carrying a rifle near the scene.

Investigators later identified a 58-year-old man, Keith Brown, as a person of interest. Police described him as armed and dangerous and linked him to two previous robbery incidents.

Brown was taken into custody on February 10 at around 11 p.m.

The suspect

It remains unclear whether Brown knew the victim or if there was any interaction between them at the drive-thru before the shooting.

He has since been charged with first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, three counts of first-degree robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm as a felon.

A spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said on February 11:

“Intelligence detectives have taken a 58-year-old man into custody in connection to the homicide.

“He was armed when he was arrested.

“Our SWAT team executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home.

“Homicide detectives located evidence from two prior robberies as well.

“We are working with the Circuit Attorney’s Office.”

Earlier reports by First Alert 4 stated that on February 6, Brown allegedly pointed a gun at a woman in a Jack in the Box drive-thru, stealing a 9mm handgun, her purse, and both her and her daughter’s mobile phones.

Two days later, he is believed to have entered and robbed a Dollar General store.
