Family Forced to Sleep Outside After Storm Goretti Rips Off Their Roof
A family in Cornwall were left counting their blessings after Storm Goretti ripped the roof off their home, leaving the property badly damaged but thankfully causing no injuries.
The incident happened on January 8 at around 8 p.m. at their residence in Nanpean, near Newquay. The homeowners, Paul Ossiti and his wife, were inside the house when the powerful storm struck.
The sudden damage forced the couple to leave their home and find another place to spend the night, as the building was no longer safe to stay in.
Speaking about the incident to Needtoknow, Paul said: “It was a bungalow built on the side of an old railway carriage,”
“But it looks like a bomb site now.
“The storm just ripped off the roof.”
