I Gave You $50k Every Month — Russell Simmons Calls Out Ex-Wife Kimora, Accuses Her of Keeping Their Children From Him

Music mogul Russell Simmons has publicly accused his ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, of keeping their children away from him following their divorce.

Taking to social media, Russell shared a series of emotional claims, alleging that despite years of financial support, he has struggled to maintain a relationship with his children. In one of his posts, he wrote:

“I gave u 50,000 a month for 20 years. I was ur best /only friend”

He continued by accusing Kimora of betrayal and financial misconduct, writing:

“I’m the godfather to your other 3 kids, until one day you stole my stock. I have been fighting for my kids love and my bread ever since,”

Russell further alleged that he was threatened with losing contact with his children if he took legal action, adding:

“You threatened that if I sued you, I would never speak to my kids again. There are two sides to every story,”

The post was shared over a photo of Kimora, the 49-year-old Baby Phat designer, and concluded with Russell, now 68, insisting that his side of the story has not been fully heard.

Russell and Kimora were married from 1998 to 2009 and share two daughters together — Ming Lee, 25, and Aoki Lee, 23. Kimora also has three sons from two previous relationships and a son she adopted in 2020.

In contrast, Kimora previously shared her own perspective on their co-parenting arrangement during an interview with People.

She said: “Usually I would say that I co-parent OK, but the kids are with me full-time,”

She added: “I’m pretty much the primary parent. It’s difficult, but I don’t know sometimes what other people are thinking. Guys are weird.”

Kimora further explained the challenges of holding her family together, saying: “If I wasn’t this person, I don’t know if we would’ve made it or if we would be okay,”

It could be recalled that Kimora previously revealed that Russell’s relationship with their daughter Aoki was “nonexistent.”

She also addressed financial support at the time, stating: “I do the allowance. And no, it hasn’t been upped [recently].”
