Beauty pageant contestant sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering her boyfriend child after trying to have a baby for him 

A beauty pageant contestant has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted in the tragic death of her boyfriend’s 18-month-old son.

The young woman, identified as Trinity Poague, received her sentence on Friday, December 5th, at the Southwestern Circuit Court of Georgia. She was found guilty of five counts, including two counts of felony murder.

The ruling was delivered by Judge W. James Sizemore Jr., who presided over the case.

During the sentencing hearing, the judge stated:
“I don’t do a lot of speaking when I’m passing the sentence
The bottom line is you’re going to receive a sentence of life in prison, which is the appropriate sentence for the conduct that you have been convicted of.”

He further added that Trinity would also serve an additional 20 years alongside her life sentence.

Trinity appeared emotional during the sentencing, which was broadcast on live TV.

According to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Trinity was arrested in January 2024. Authorities reported that the child — later identified as Romeo Angeles (also called Jaxton Drew) — was found unresponsive on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State University on January 14, 2024. At the time, Poague, then 18, was a student at the institution, according to WTVY 4.

During the trial, prosecutors argued that Trinity committed the crime because she allegedly wanted a child of her own with her boyfriend.

Witnesses from her college dorm recalled hearing distress sounds on the day of the incident. One witness, Lilly Waterman, stated:
“everyone said that suddenly it just stopped.
“And no one knew what happened,”

Before the case, Trinity had been crowned Miss Donalsonville in 2024, but the title has since been revoked following her conviction.
