Bandits Attack Girls Secondary School in Kebbi, Kill Staff Member and Abduct Students

Bandits launched a deadly attack on the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, Nigeria at about 4:00 am on Monday.

According to reports, the gunmen engaged police officers in a fierce gun battle before forcing their way into the school premises. They scaled the fence and stormed the students’ hostel, seizing several students during the chaos.

Sadly, one of the school staff members was killed while attempting to protect the students from the attackers.

This incident marks the first major school abduction since March 2024, when more than 200 pupils were kidnapped from a school in Kuriga, Kaduna State.
