Woman Exposed After Family Discovers She Faked Pregnancy and Used a Reborn Doll as Her Baby
A family in the UK has been left devastated after discovering that the baby they believed was real turned out to be a doll.
The woman at the center of the shocking incident, 22-year-old Kira Cousins, allegedly wore a prosthetic baby bump, faked her pregnancy, and even pretended to give birth — before introducing a reborn baby doll she named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce.
Earlier this month, Kira had taken to social media to announce the arrival of her “baby girl,” claiming the newborn weighed 5lbs 4oz.
To make the story more convincing, she reportedly shared ultrasound scans, threw a gender reveal party, and even posted videos of her stomach “kicking.” Loved ones rallied around her, gifting baby clothes and essentials, including a £1,000 pram and car seat.
She also posted detailed updates about hospital visits and claimed her baby had been diagnosed with a heart defect during tests.
However, the elaborate lie began to unravel when Kira’s mother made a heartbreaking discovery — finding a realistic reborn doll lying in Kira’s room.
Screenshots shared online reportedly show messages from Kira telling the man she claimed was the baby’s father that the baby had died — adding another layer of deception to the bizarre hoax.
In a statement shared on TikTok she wrote: “In my own words let’s set this straight. I was in bed when my mother came into my room and found it to be a doll.
“Prior to this, I had been keeping myself away from literally everyone. The next thing I know, I was confronted by all the family. Don’t for one minute think they let me away with this, they haven’t.
“And none of them knew. Neither did the dad and his family.”
Friend Neave McRobert said suspicions began to grow when loved ones noticed that the “baby” had never cried and that Kira refused to let anyone hold it, claiming the infant had recently been to the hospital for check-ups.

Where tf do I even start, so Kira is/ was a good friend of mine, the day she told me she was “pregnant” I was so happy feeling like I was going to be an auntie again, sending me baby scans! 4 months go by and the gender reveal comes, me, my mum and niece all went! Bought her gifts, she received ALOT of presents for her “baby doll” anyway no one thought for a second that she wasn’t pregnant, or lying to everyone! everyone believed Kira.
“Kira was texting me all throughout her “pregnancy” telling me never to get pregnant, she’s constantly sick, she feels lonely all the rest! Telling me Jamie never went to any of the appointments with her painting Jamie and his family out to be the worst people on the earth when in reality they were the only correct 1nes! She also called me at 01:30 2ce early on the 10th October I never answered it as I was asleep, when I woke up I had a Snapchat from her “hi aunt neave, Bonnie-Leigh is my name I was born at this time and I weigh this much the exact same weight as my daddy when he was born, I can’t wait to meet you” she also sent me a video of her walking out the hospital with the baby in a car seat , I felt terrible as I thought she went through labour on her own! so I sent her a video crying with excitement congratulated her.
“2 days after the baby was born she texts me saying Jamie’s mum had says to her “it’s a doll, she’s not moving or anything and she’ll be freezing” again never let the granny hold the baby or touch the baby, so she grabbed the “baby” and went to Wishaw to get her checked over, she says the hospital just told her to keep her wrapped up and she had mucous. The same day she told me it’s normal for a new born baby not to open their eyes atol. The following day she texted me saying “I need to get out this house, can I come see you” I says yeah course do you want me to come pick you up as you’ve just had a baby she says yes and I went. I asked her if she needed help she says no but anyway I took the pram and put it in my boot, and she strapped the car seat in, asked me to take her to Morrisons where she worked so she could show everyone the baby, so we went and all her work colleagues were giving her money for good luck, she asked her manager “can I come back to work” as a joke and her manager says “Kira just enjoy this time off and get bonding time with Bonnie-Leigh” so now everyone in her work has met her we came to mine. She had the car seat really close to her and my mum was also excited to meet the baby as Kira had been telling my mum for weeks and months she couldn’t wait to see her, my mum moved the blanket to just see her legs as everyone does and Kira moved so quickly to put the cover back over her, she made a bottle up but says “she’s not crying or even up so I won’t bother the now”.
“She was on the phone to Jamie and he was asking for a dna test to be done, but as the baby had mucous it couldn’t be done, her cousin then phoned and says “Kira why have you took the baby to your friends before I’ve even met her” but her cousins a social worker so she never wanted her cousin to see her as she would’ve known straight away that it was a doll! She didn’t let anyone touch the baby not even me when she was in my house but we thought she’s just being an overprotective mum! When I was dropping her off she called Jamie and asked for him to be at hers for her getting back so he could feed the fkn doll! Soon as we got 2 minutes from hers she calls Jamie back and tells him not to come right now he could come later. The next day my sister had noticed all her photos on Facebook had been deleted then I went onto snap to notice she had deleted every picture and video of Bonnie-Leigh from our chats! I texted her asking why she done it she ignored me, I then added Jamie on snap to understand what the fuck was happening and I asked him “is this a doll” and he says yes it’s a doll, I can’t imagine how he must feel right now and everyone else that has been lied to for months and months believe they were going to be a grandparent for the first time, an uncle for the first time, all of her family and friends! as I know I feel totally used, drained, mentally I’m fucked, I feel I can’t trust anyone or believe anyone! Everyone got conned by her! And I feel worse because I’m one of the few people to meet this baby. I was driving 20mph on the motorway as I didn’t want to hit any bumps or give the fkn doll a fright! But deep down I know I done everything correctly and just done it because I genuinely cared about this doll! She even went to the extreme and texted Jamie the dolls dad saying “Bonnie-Leigh died”

One of my workers used it and didn’t flush.
She got angry immediately. Told me to replace the entire WC, wall tiles, everything in that toilet.
At my expense.She left in anger.
I gathered my workers,Nobody confessed. I sent all of them off site.
Now I’m paying for a full toilet replacement because someone couldn’t flush.
I don’t only post my wins. This is one of the losses.

The woman shared her experience on Facebook, explaining that she and her former husband had been divorced for nine months. According to her, during that period, her ex-husband allegedly failed to contribute financially towards the children’s school fees, feeding, medical bills and clothing.
She claimed that she contacted him to have a mature conversation about their three children, particularly because the children had reportedly spent some time out of school due to disagreements between the former couple.
According to the woman, the situation became more difficult after schools resumed and she needed to register the children. She said a school close to her home was charging ₦370,000 per child for first-time registration, including school books, test books and other required items.
For her three children, she said the total cost would amount to ₦1.11 million.
She wrote:
“I called my ex-husband for us to have a conversation & talk maturely like adults that we are concerning our 3 kids that since January 9 months we divorced he hasn’t sent a dime shi-shi kobo for 3 whole kids down from school fees, feeding, medications 💊, clothing, etc nothing nothing. he doesn’t even care weather they are feeding, schooling or not while he has money is not as if he’s broke. & he told me that God forbid bad thing that he will never ever in his entire life send anything for them. That he have the money but he will not send. Ok now school hv resumed & we all know how Abuja schools are expensive especially this my area any good school here is expensive. & my 3 kids needs to be registered this first term entering b/c they hv been home for terms due to the quarry’s between I & my ex & he refusal for putting them in school. Now good school that is closer to my house Incase of picking them up there registration for first entrance is 370k per child including there main school book, test book, different wears like practically everything. Now multiply 370k into 3 = 1,110,000 I even told him to come make the enquirements himself in the school to be sure am telling the truth. The main point is that am not even asking him to bring all but to contribute even if it’s half or quarter of the money. b/c I know am married now soo am not expecting him to do all they are also my kids & have be taking care of their bills from head to toes 3 of them for 9 good months now. He still insisted, shouted at me as if am still under him that as he say & will always say that he will never ever ever that over his dead 💀 body will he ever send money to me for them. All I have to say is that is well. God is watching.”
