So You Think You Can Dance Star, Joshua Allen Dies at 35

Allen, best known for winning season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance, died at the age of 35. His family confirmed the heartbreaking news to TMZ, though they declined to disclose the cause of his death, asking fans and the public to respect their privacy and offer prayers during this difficult time.

Joshua first captured national attention in 2008 when he won the hit dance competition show. Notably, the late Stephen “tWitch” Boss was his runner-up — and the two went on to become close friends.

In a past interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joshua revealed that he had no formal dance training as a child but would try to attend classes during school breaks. Once he advanced through the show’s auditions, he dedicated himself fully to training, taking every dance class he could to improve his skills.

Following his win, Joshua shared his ambitions of expanding his career beyond dance. He dreamed of becoming a recording artist, choreographer, studio owner, and eventually running his own record label and producing music.

However, his career later faced challenges. In 2016, he was charged in a domestic violence case in Los Angeles. The following year, he was sentenced to one year in jail and placed on probation.

May his soul rest in peace… amen
