A U.S. mom, Danielle Hines, has stunned the world after giving birth to what is being described as the world’s biggest baby.
Her newborn tipped the scales at a staggering 13 pounds, 15 ounces, almost twice the size of an average newborn, which usually weighs between 6 and 8 pounds.
Speaking to Today.com, Danielle shared her overwhelming joy and surprise, saying: “He was the talk of the maternity ward!”

The baby born on September 3rd at BayCare’s St. Joseph’s Hospital-South in Riverview, Florida, has made history as the largest newborn ever delivered at the hospital, according to its media department.
The proud mom explained that she and her husband expected their baby might be on the bigger side, given their heights—she stands at 6 feet tall, while her husband is 6’2”. She believes genetics may have played a big role in their son Annan’s remarkable size.

During pregnancy, she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. While her glucose levels were carefully monitored and kept under control, she acknowledged that the condition can sometimes contribute to larger-than-average babies.
Recalling her C-section experience, she admitted she could actually feel the doctors working hard to deliver Annan.
She added: “I remember thinking, ‘What are they pulling out of me?’ What is going on here?’ I felt so much pressure,”
“He was so big. I was like, ‘Whose baby is this? He came out of me?'” Hines says. “Then everybody starts coming in because it’s not every day you see an almost 14 pound baby pop out. He was like a little celebrity.”

“I can’t wait to show him when he gets older: ‘Look you were in the news!'”
“We didn’t expect such a big blessing…….But it’s just more to love!”
