They Are Invading the Market – Moment Ghana Authorities Confront Nigerian Man as They Order Him to Close Down His Shop

A Nigerian businessman who has lived in Ghana since 2007 has found himself in a dilemma after being confronted by market authorities for refusing to shut down his shop.

A viral video captured the heated exchange, showing the Nigerian insisting that he would not close his business despite demands from the market chairman. The trader argued that he has been legally residing in Ghana for nearly two decades.

Speaking to the press, the market chairman accused Nigerian traders of breaching local market laws, claiming that their continued presence in retail spaces is preventing Ghanaian citizens from operating freely.

The Chairman said: “A lot of Nigerians have closed their shop; you’re not different from them. We called the Nigerians to meet with them concerning issues in the markets. We’re going to prosecute any Ghanaian fronting for a Nigerian. The problem is that they are invading the market by wholesaling at the same time, doing retailing in the market, we can’t compete. The GIPC law states that all foreigners should do supply/wholesaling, not retailing”
